What a real privilege it was to attend the The Diverse Cumbria Awards and to take home an award! Thank you so much! Well done everyone, it is wonderful to see the people who make such a difference to our area and to celebrate together.
The award was for the Puppet Pageant, which is a Carlisle City Council event where community-made puppets parade through the city centre. We worked with the community to create the puppets. The last theme was ‘A Kaleidoscope of Carlisle Life – celebrating the people and achievements that have made the city what it is today.’ The parade celebrated people from all walks of life from weavers to coffee merchants, astronomers, to fishermen.
We share this award with so many people! Big thank you and congratulations goes to Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s group at Gosling Sike, Belle Vue Primary School, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Hope Street, Heathlands, Multicultural Cumbria’s Women’s Group, Probation Service, Carlisle Women’s Group, Carlisle Youth Zone, Music on the Marr and Upperby Primary School, Carlisle City Council as well as so many more individuals who helped make it happen. Thank you!
