Prism Arts Announces Funding for “Prism’s Big Night Out”
13 August 2025
Prism Arts is thrilled to announce that we have received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for an exciting new project – Prism’s Big Night Out.
Three Nights of Inclusive Live Performance
This autumn, Prism Arts’ theatre group will bring three unforgettable nights of inclusive live performance to venues across Cumbria. Each show will be a vibrant, accessible, and joyous variety performance, devised and performed by Prism’s talented learning disabled and neurodivergent artists.
From laughter and music to heartfelt storytelling, Prism’s Big Night Out promises to create shared experiences where everyone feels welcome. The project’s mission is to develop learning disabled and neurodivergent audiences in the region, breaking down barriers to the arts and celebrating diverse creative voices.
Col Conroy, Creative Director at Prism Arts: “We believe everyone should have the chance to enjoy a great night out at the theatre. This project isn’t just about putting on shows – it’s about building a cultural landscape where learning disabled and neurodivergent people are central to the story, both on stage and in the audience.”
Prism Arts is a Cumbria-based arts charity that works with learning disabled and neurodivergent people to express their experiences and insight creatively, making powerful, high-quality work that is shared, recognised and respected.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
