Joining Studio Arts gives you the opportunity to create art, learn new skills with professional artists, meet new people and exhibit your artwork.

Studio Arts is our fine arts programme for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism which runs once a week, on Mondays, throughout the academic year.

Participants join this programme to discover or develop their visual arts skills. They will create work for exhibitions and be given the opportunity to develop their arts practice.

The weekly workshops take a multi art form approach; participants work with professional, experienced artists to learn a range of new visual art skills, including print making, model making, painting, clay work and textiles. The programme is participant led; each person is given the opportunity to direct their own learning.

Participants will:

  • Learn and develop new skills, supported by professional artists
  • Learn to work as a team, building confidence
  • Make new friends and develop new ideas
  • Work in a supportive and non-judgemental environment
  • Learn to think and work independently
