We are delighted to be working with Carlisle Cathedral to launch Prism Arts’ first solo art exhibition, featuring Carlisle-based artist, Harvey Tye.
Harvey Tye: solo art exhibition – experience landscapes, animals and humankind through a unique perspective is Harvey’s first solo art exhibition. It takes place from Tuesday 18 – Saturday 29 October 2022, in Carlisle Cathedral.
Harvey has been working and collaborating within Prism Arts for almost a decade.
A talented illustrator, he can lend his skills to a wide variety of subject matters. His personal favourites explore creatures, both familiar and magical, humans with intricate detail as well as full impact vistas. In his words, “I like to create shapes in my art. My favourite things to draw are buildings, landscapes and cartoons.”
Harvey’s work is always visually impactful, making use of bold lines and strong colour palettes. He has an inimitable style that is instantly recognisable, whatever the application of his drawings.
Harvey has shared his work in group shows across Cumbria in venues such as Tullie House (currently featuring in the Travelling Stories Exhibition) and the Wordsworth Centre in Grasmere. His theatre production design has been toured across Cumbria and the North of England.
Speaking on the event, Harvey says: “I’m proud and chuffed to have my own solo exhibition. I’m looking forward for seeing it all installed.”
The exhibition is open from 9 to 3.30 daily and is free to enter. A private view will take place on the evening of Monday 17 October.
