In 2022, Prism Arts ran the Picture of Me project. Working with specialist artists, LDA participants learned how to uncover their own story in a series of hands-on workshops over 8 weeks in Carlisle and Maryport. Participants chose to explore their story through either dance & film, street art or storytelling.
Jane Dudman, project manager for Picture of Me, worked in partnership with Dr Tracy Hayes from Plymouth Marjon University to begin developing a story crafting approach to carry through all our future projects. Their combined reflections entitled “‘I can’t see what you’re saying’: researching with learning disabled and autistic young people during the COVID-19 pandemic” has been published in a paper in Children’s Geographies, which is available to read now by clicking this link.
